Health and Hope for Tomorrow

In Namibia, Project HOPE is working to empower local communities and individuals to care for themselves by sharing knowledge, relevant skills, and teaching techniques as pillars of its work in HIV/AIDS, children’s health, and microfinance projects. Knowledge and the confidence to share it with others instills a sense of shared responsibility for the health of the community and all of its residents. This, we believe, is the key to effecting lasting change for a better future.

Improving Lives Worldwide

Since 1958, and the SS HOPE - the world’s first peacetime hospital ship - Project HOPE’s (Health Opportunities for People Everywhere) mission is to improve the quality of life of the world’s most vulnerable - predominantly women and children - through health education programs and related activities that improve the delivery of health care while building local capacity to sustain improvements after HOPE’s assistance ends.

Over time - and with the assistance of its network of global partners, including offices in the United Kingdom and Germany - Project HOPE’s programs have spanned more than 90 countries and focus on a variety of health-related fields decreasing vulnerability and emphasizing self-sufficiency.
